If you’ve been at stay-at-home mom for a while now, you may be itching to get back into the workforce, to have a career, and to do something outside of changing diapers and driving your kids to and from soccer practice. In fact, you may even have started searching job boards and posted your resume. But nothing has stuck out because, quite frankly, you are first and foremost a mom, and you want the freedom to be a mom at a moment’s notice, such as when your son is sick, or your daughter hurts herself on the playground.
I’m Camilla-Jean, and I help moms just like you become successful mompreneurs, running their own businesses. I can teach you from start to finish how to discover your idea, or make your idea come true. I offer one-on-one coaching or a Mompreneur Mastermind Experience that gives you the tools you need to succeed. Below, I’ll discuss what exactly is a mompreneur and a little bit about how to get started. Contact me today!
If you hadn’t guessed, a mompreneur is a combination of the words “mom” and “entrepreneur.” In essence, that’s what a mompreneur is — a mother who is an entrepreneur, or someone who is running her own business. When you look up the word “multitasking” in the dictionary, odds are you’ll find a picture of a mompreneur. You are raising your kids while trying to juggle all the demands of running a successful mompreneur business, usually a home-based business. There are now millions of mompreneurs in the United States, and the trend is showing no signs of slowing down. In fact, about one in three businesses in the United States are being started by mothers.
It’s also interesting to note that about 57 percent of successful mompreneurs wait to start their business later in life after the age of 40, indicating they wait for their children to be a bit older. Most successful mompreneurs are married with 95 percent of them not being the sole breadwinner.
Odds are, you have the mom part down pat. But how do you start a business that will allow you to stay at home with your kids? Here are some tips to help you get started.
